Manaslu Circuit Trek

Arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport and transfer to hotel.

A scenic, yet long drive through hills, following Trishuli and Budhi Gandaki rivers, passing through rural villages, beautiful waterfalls. The drive ends at Jagat, which is also the official entry checkpoint.

The trek begins following the Budhi Gandaki River through forests and multiple suspension bridges. You will walk through dense bamboo and pine forests also coming across small settlements, like Salleri and Philim along the way.

The landscape change is a little noticeable in this day, as you enter upper alpine zone. The trail is steady, steep through forests and traditional mountain settlements. You will cross the rivers multiple times, rewarding you with beautiful, mossy forests of rhododendron, oak, and fir. At the near end, a sharp uphill climb brings you to Namrung, an ancient Tibetan-influenced village known for its beautiful stone architecture

A short but beautiful day of the trail, taking you through mani walls, prayer wheels in the village of Lihi. As you ascend up the hills, you get breathtaking views of Ganesh Himal and visit Ribung Gompa.

This day, the trail takes you through forests and villages with stunning views of Mt. Manaslu. Stumbling through village of Shyala and then into wide, flat valley at the Samagaon end. This is the largest and most significant cultural hub of the entire trek, sitting right at the foot of Mt. Manaslu.

Gradual ascent along the Budhi Gandaki River valley, with incredible views of Tibetan Plateau. The destination is Samdo, a remote, traditional Tibetan refugee village located remarkably close to the Tibetan border.

Second critical rest day before crossing the 5,000m barrier. Hike to Samdo Ri (5,177m) for stunning mountain views and rest before crossing Larkya La Pass

Short but challenging trek preparing for the pass crossing. Dharmasala is a basic high-altitude stone shelter setup. The rest of the afternoon is spent packing, hydrating, staying warm, and sleeping early in preparation for the big pass day.

The trek starts early in the morning, crossing the highest point of the trek, the Larkya La Pass at (5,106 m) with dramatic views of Himlung Himal and Annapurna.II. After descending down steep, you rest to beautiful valley of Bimtang.

After the intense high-altitude pass day, descend through forests, rivers, and mountain villages. You cross several wooden bridges over the rivers. The day ends in the peaceful, forested village of Gho.

Easy descent through terraced farmlands and villages. The trail goes through green, terraced farmlands, small farming villages, and beautiful waterfalls. Eventually, the Manaslu trail joins the main, famous Annapurna Circuit route at the busy trail hub of Dharapani. This is your last night at Manaslu conservation area.

Long scenic drive back to Kathmandu. The trip goes along Marsyangdi River gorge until Besisahar.
