In the Bagmati Province of Nepal, Langtang is located in the north-central Himalayas. And, the region is well known for hosting the Langtang National Park. It is situated 51 kilometers north of the Kathmandu Valley. And, Langtang is a narrow valley. The northern and eastern border of the national park coexists with the international border to Tibet. The river Bhote Kosi and Trisuli flows within the western boundary.

From the 32 km north of the Kathmandu Valley, the southern border life includes a slightly lower range of snowy peaks. To the north, Langtang lirung (7246 m) dominates the valley. In the south, Gang Chhenpo (6388m) and the trekking peak of Naya Kangri (5846 m) lie. The east of the valley is protected by Dorje Lakpa (6966 m). It also includes some influence from Shamanism, Hinduism and Islam.

Kyanjin Ri (4773m / 15655 ft), like Kala Patthar on the Everest Base Camp Trek, is the highest point most trekkers reach on the Langtang Trek.
Langtang National Park is located at an altitude of 4,000 meters above sea level. The entrance of the national park is subject to a charge. The best times for trekking in Langdang are spring and autumn.
