Everest Base Camp

Upon landing at Tribhuvan International Airport, a representative from our team will warmly greet you and arrange a private transfer to your hotel in the city. The rest of the day is yours to unwind from your flight, explore the colorful streets of Thamel, or handle any last-minute gear shopping. In the evening, we will gather for a welcoming dinner and a comprehensive pre-trek briefing.

Wake up midnight for drive to Ramechhap airport and take 20min flight to Lukla. After bags are sorted, porters are ready, you walk through villages reaching Phakding.

Follow Dudh Koshi River, crossing suspension bridges, where you come across a famous bridge Hilary Suspension Bridge. From there, ascending 2 hours, you reach Namche Bazaar.

To adapt smoothly to the thinning air, a dedicated acclimatization day is spent in the Sherpa capital of Namche Bazaar. We take a panoramic hike up to Kunde or Khumjung. Here, you can enjoy a warm drink while soaking in your very first clear views of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam. We return to Namche for the afternoon to rest, explore local bakeries, or visit the Sherpa Culture Museum.

The trail starts flat at the start, until you reach down to the river at Phunki Tenga. After then, climb through rhododendron forests to reach Tengboche, home to the largest and most famous Buddhist monastery in the entire Khumbu region.

The day starts with gradual descent through rhododendron and pine forests down to the Imja Khola river. After crossing a suspension bridge, the trail begins a steady uphill climb following mani walls and the ancient village of Pangboche, nestled directly under the shadow of Mt. Ama Dablam. As you ascend further into the high valley, the trees thin out , leading you into the stone-walled pastures of Dingboche.

Before making the final push past 5,000 meters, a second acclimatization day is spent at Dingboche. Trekkers typically do a steep hike up to Nangkartshang Peak or the ridge overlooking the Imja Valley to follow the mountain rule of "climb high, sleep low."

The trail climbs gently out of Dingboche and crosses a glacial stream to reach Thukla (Dughla). After a brief rest, you conquer the steep "Thukla Pass," home to emotional stone memorials dedicated to climbers who lost their lives on Everest. From there, the trail levels out slightly alongside the moraine of the Khumbu Glacier until you reach the small cluster of teahouses at Lobuche.

An epic and physically demanding day. You trail along the rocky moraines of the Khumbu Glacier to reach Gorakshep, the final out-of-the-way settlement. After dropping your heavy bags and grabbing a quick meal, you hike the final 3.5 km across loose rocks and glacial ice structures to stand proudly at Everest Base Camp before backtracking to Gorakshep to sleep.

You wake up before dawn for a freezing, steep ascent up the black boulders of Kala Patthar to witness the ultimate sunrise over Mt. Everest, Nuptse, and Lhotse. After descending back to Gorakshep for breakfast, you pack up and begin a long, steady descent down to the wider, wind-swept valley of Pheriche, where the thicker air makes sleeping incredibly comfortable.

A long day of retracing your steps downward. You cross through Pangboche and Tengboche, descending into deep rhododendron-filled forests before climbing one last steep hill to re-enter the bustling mountain hub of Namche Bazaar.

The final day on the trail. You descend the steep hill out of Namche, cross the famous high suspension bridges over the Dudh Koshi River, and pass through various Sherpa villages. The final stretch involves a gentle but tiring uphill climb to reach the gateway town of Lukla, celebrating the completion of the trek with your team.

You catch an early morning flight out of Lukla Airport. Due to air traffic shifting out of Kathmandu, flights primarily operate to Ramechhap (Manthali Airport). Upon landing, a private jeep or bus transfers your group back across the hills to your hotel in Kathmandu.

A buffer day built into the itinerary in case flight delays or cancellations occur out of Lukla due to unpredictable mountain weather. If flights run perfectly on Day 13, this serves as a free day in Kathmandu for shopping, exploring, getting a massage, or relaxing.

The journey officially concludes. Our team provides a private airport transfer from your hotel to Tribhuvan International Airport for your international flight home.
